Family habits as important as genetics in teen obesity

Family lifestyle habits, from sharing regular family meals to being physically active, can have as big an impact on teenage obesity as genetics, researchers found. "Families' adoption, organization and maintenance of sustainable, healthy lifestyles is quite important, especially given the challenges involved in doing so in our postindustrial, time-squeezed economy," the study author said.
