House passes bill to modify 401(k), pension rules

The House of Representatives has passed a bill that would place a moratorium on a measure setting the deadline for retirees to withdraw funds from 401(k) plans and ease requirements for companies fully funding pensions. Both measures are intended to prevent undue hardship for retirees and employers caused by falling asset values. The bill does not address required minimum distributions for this year.
