House approves bill with Ares program protections

The House passed an appropriations bill on Thursday that would provide $18.7 billion for NASA's 2010 budget and would prevent NASA from changing or canceling the Constellation program without the approval of Congress. The funding would include an extra $75 million for the Ares rocket program, on top of the $1.4 billion the White House asked for the program in a budget request to Congress in April.
