MSU study shows carbon-capturing success of green roofs

Green roof enthusiasts have a new reason to cheer: A recent Michigan State University study has proven the capacity for roofs to capture carbon. If black tar roofs in Detroit were retrofitted as "green," the researchers said, enough carbon dioxide could be removed from the air to offset the emissions of 10,000 mid-sized SUVs or trucks for a whole year.
