Older Americans inspire new ventures

Venture capitalists looking for the next big thing would do well to consider the rapidly growing possibilities among aging consumers, advises technology journalist Barb Darrow. The U.S. cohort over 55 "is a huge market — $3 trillion in annual disposable income," said Jody Holtzman, senior vice president of thought leadership for AARP. Among the areas of interest are technologies that enable aging in place and provide needed or desired services.
