Texas groups study the effects of school budget cuts

Texas funding cuts for education have led to layoffs and decreased staff morale in public schools, according to a survey by the Texas American Federation of Teachers. Other groups and nonprofits also seek to quantify the effect of cuts to education ahead of a state-mandated report due in March. That report will mark the first time the state has attempted to calculate the effects of education budget cuts.
