Greater shrink pinches Dollar General's margins:

Dollar General reported better-than-expected third-quarter earnings, but gross margins may have been affected by shrink. While the number of items lost to theft has declined, the dollar value is on the rise as Dollar General adds more $5-and-up branded products, such as toys from Hasbro and Disney, the company said.
