Philippines unveils 1st isotope generator facility

The Philippine Nuclear Research Institute has launched the country's first molybdenum-99/technetium-99m generator production facility. PNRI Director Alumanda dela Rosa said the facility could allow for a 50% reduction in patient costs for tests with technetium-99m. The facility should be able to provide hospitals with lower-cost radioisotopes by February.
