South Korea sees 5-year surge in debt-rescue applicants

A South Korean government bailout program for distressed citizens has seen applications nearly quadruple over the past five years, with a big boost from middle-class applicants struggling with debt. Meanwhile, the Bank of Korea reported that household loans by depository corporations reached a new high in October.
