Recent strong winds and heavy rainfall have swamped roofing companies in Nevada with work as customers seek to repair leaky roofs or replace those that were partly torn off, firms said. The surge in demand has led Burke Roofing to transfer some calls to other roofing contractors, said Shawn Sjodin, the firm's operations manager. Clay Davis, owner of East Fork Roofing, said he personally had to handle some repair jobs. Smaller contractors should be careful to hire qualified, knowledgeable workers if they decide to hire to keep up with increased demand, said Steve Nichols, owner of Ace Roofing.
