Texas superintendent makes STEM education a top priority

Michael McFarland, superintendent of the Lancaster school system in Texas has made science, technology, engineering and math education one of the top priorities of his tenure, including plans to transform all school campuses into hubs for STEM learning. "Our current education system, the way it is now, it's not happening," McFarland said. To change the course, "we've designed a model that will expose kids in pre-K through high school to STEM," he added.
