Eat-local movement aims to improve health, spur economic growth

An initiative in west Georgia called Get Healthy, Live Well seeks to promote health and economic growth by sparking relationships between chefs and farmers to serve residents more locally grown, nutritious fare. "A lot of the chefs had never had the chance to meet with the local farmers to see what they can purchase from them. We are trying to help make those connections," said Gina Brandenburg, program manager.
