FTC finds flashlight app-maker illegally collected location data

Mobile application developer GoldenShores Technologies reached a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission after a complaint found the developer's Brightest Flashlight Free app was collecting and selling location data to third parties without properly notifying users. The settlement requires GoldenShores to give users more control over what location information is shared and to delete the data it has already collected.
