N.D. district uses "brain breaks" to keep students more focused, alert

Teachers in an elementary school in North Dakota are implementing "brain breaks" during the school day as part of the district's SchoolsAlive! program -- focused on integrating physical activity into the school day. During a recent lesson, fourth-grade teacher Shannon Bartnick called for a brain break when she noticed students yawning during math. She proceeded to mix math lessons with movement, stretches and other exercises.
