U.S. oil output reaches 25-year high amid fracking boom

The U.S. shale drilling boom reached a 25-year high the week ending Dec. 6 amid rising shale production, according to the Energy Information Administration. The agency reported that the U.S. produced 8.075 million barrels of oil per day last week, the highest level since October 1988.
