With one strike over, Kroger workers return

After a nine-week standoff over health care and wages, 3,300 union Kroger employees in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky are ready to return to work. The new union contract calls for Kroger to contribute 10.5% more to workers' health benefits if workers use an open insurance plan. One union president said the strike was worth it, and a Kroger official said the new deal allows the chain to remain competitive.
