NATO awards Northrop Grumman missile-defense contract

Northrop Grumman has won a contract of more than $104 million to install its Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures equipment on NATO aircraft. The system, to be installed fleetwide by 2009, will provide NATO fighters and AWACS planes with high-tech protection from shoulder-fired, ground-based rockets.
