Analyst: Lodging industry becomes buyer's market

Bjorn Hanson, an associate professor at New York University's Tisch Center and industry analyst, said the lodging industry is going through the strongest buyer's market in more than three decades. "The shift in the balance of power from seller to buyer happened as dramatically as at any time in history," Hanson said. Domestic corporate lodging demand has dropped as much as 4% and international demand has declined further, he said.
