The spread of social-media sites has facilitated direct contacts among hiring managers and candidates, one recent survey suggests. And that could spell bad news for recruiters. "Business has always been about relationships, conversations and networks," said Jonathan Winter of Career Innovation, which co-sponsored the survey. "Now at last we are seeing the rise of software that reflects this reality."
