DOT figures show monthly traffic decline for September

The Transportation Department said U.S. airlines carried 5 million fewer passengers this September than they did a year earlier. September's 8.4% drop marked the seventh consecutive monthly decline of 2008. For the first nine months of the year, total U.S. passenger counts are off 2.1%.
