President-elect Barack Obama has proposed freezing the estate tax, also called the death tax, at 2009 levels to help cover tax cuts in low- and middle-income income brackets. The effect on business is debatable, and one reader commenting on this article writes that tax liabilities ultimately are shifted to the wage earner anyway.
