Obama wants to freeze estate tax at '09 levels

President-elect Barack Obama has proposed freezing the estate tax, also called the death tax, at 2009 levels to help cover tax cuts in low- and middle-income income brackets. The effect on business is debatable, and one reader commenting on this article writes that tax liabilities ultimately are shifted to the wage earner anyway. "Even if we raise the taxes on upper income individuals, we still get the bill in the form of higher prices," the reader writes. "It's all an illusion."
