FDA guidance covers evaluation of patient-reported outcome tools

The FDA has issued a guidance document explaining how it assesses questionnaires and other patient-reported outcome materials that sponsors of device trials use to evaluate therapy benefits to patients. "By explicitly addressing the review issues identified in this guidance, sponsors can increase the efficiency of their discussions with the FDA during the medical product development process," the agency said.
