Pets take center stage in many holiday plans

Pennsylvania resident Carol Bryant plans holiday festivities around her cocker spaniel, Dexter, taking him to see holiday light displays, setting aside a stocking for him and buying presents he can unwrap under the tree. "It seems many pet owners have accepted that their pets are like children and they enjoy indulging their pet more than ever," said APPA President Bob Vetere. "It is easier for pet owners to spend on their pets than other relationships in their lives because pets have no expectations."
