Tight glucose control may not have cognitive benefits in diabetes

Data on 2,977 diabetes patients at a mean age of 62 showed those who underwent either intensive or standard diabetes care had similar rates of cognitive decline at 40 months. However, those who received intensive therapy had less total brain volume declines than those who had standard care, researchers said. The findings were reported at the World Diabetes Congress.
