Bariatric surgery in diabetes patients reduces vascular risks

Type 2 diabetes patients who had any type of bariatric surgery showed a 61% to 78% reduced risk of macrovascular, microvascular or vascular events compared with those who did not have surgery, data presented at the annual meeting of the Southern Surgical Association indicated.
