"Digital lollipop" could be a taste sensation

Scientists in Singapore have created a "digital lollipop" that simulates tastes by sending thermal and electrical signals to different parts of the tongue. The technology could one day be used to let television viewers taste foods served on cookery shows, to create more immersive video games or to allow diabetics to taste sugary foods without actually consuming them.
