Southwest opposes new low-cost terminal

In a letter to officials of the Austin, Texas, airport, Southwest Airlines says that a new terminal is giving other airlines a "substantial cost advantage," further pointing out that its lease agreement indicates that the company is entitled to terminal fees that all other airlines pay. A city aviation official claims that the limited services at a new terminal are unlikely to directly compete with Southwest's.
