Agrivida, Syngenta unit sign deal on energy-crop research

Bioenergy-crop developer Agrivida said it signed a research deal with the venture capital unit of agribusiness major Syngenta to develop new types of corn that would provide low-cost sugar. Agrivida will exchange equity for access to Syngenta's crop technology and intellectual property.
