Islamic debt from Persian Gulf banks is close to record gain

Investors' appetite for increased yield is driving Islamic bonds issued by financial institutions in the Persian Gulf region toward their biggest annual gain. This year, such sukuk in the Gulf Cooperation Council has returned 15.7%, according to the HSBC/Nasdaq Dubai GCC Financial Services U.S. Dollar Sukuk Index. That is the highest percentage since HSBC began recording such data in 2005.
