The proposed 600-megawatt Susitna-Watana Hydro Project will move closer this month if Alaska applies, as scheduled, for a federal permit. Gov. Sean Parnell said he supports the project as "part of a comprehensive energy package that will help Alaskans in a number of different ways. It will grow jobs now and into the future, and it will help Alaska reach its goal of 50% renewable energy by 2025."
