IBM releases chemical-compound database to PubChem

IBM will offer information on 2.4 million chemical compounds to the National Institutes of Health's PubChem database, a move that could help scientists more easily develop compounds and drugs. The IBM initiative includes DuPont and other manufacturers, and it uses a private database culled from millions of patents and journal abstracts.
