Local online ad spending to boom in coming years, report finds

There's no universally accepted way to measure local online ad spending, but all signs point to strong growth in years to come, according to an eMarketer report. "Local online ad spending is growing as fast as -- if not faster than -- total online ad spending," says eMarketer analyst and report author Lauren Fisher. By some estimates, local online spending could account for as much as one-fifth of locally focused advertising next year.
