Jury: Apple violated patent-holding firm's intellectual property

A federal court jury has ruled that Apple violated three patents held by a Maryland-based firm MobileMedia Ideas, which owns about 300 patents that were originally held by Nokia and Sony. The judge in the case will hold hearings on a possible damage award over patents related to phone cameras and call-related technology. Apple did win one patent case Thursday, when another federal court jury cleared the company and LG Electronics from a suit brought by Alcatel-Lucent related to video-compression technology.
