Wage growth isn't keeping pace with health care costs, study finds

Increases in premiums for employer-based family health care insurance far outstripped gains for median family income between 2003 and 2011, a study by The Commonwealth Fund says. Premiums are on a trajectory to increase 60% between 2011 and 2020, which would make families' average yearly coverage costs about $25,000, the study predicts.
