Parents probe research linking strep, OCD in youth

Research linking cases of strep throat in children with the development of a sudden, severe form of obsessive-compulsive disorder has grabbed the attention of a growing number of parents looking for an explanation for changes in their own children. The condition has been dubbed Pandas, or pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with streptococcal infection, and studies are under way to better understand the link.
