Can wikis replace e-mail at work?

The wiki, a shared, rewritable online document somewhat akin to a communal blog, could become the preferred means for delivering internal company communications and facilitating dialogues. Wikis enable group communication and collaboration, and could provide a welcome relief for workers whose electronic in-boxes are cluttered with unimportant or unwanted e-mail messages.
