U.S. funds project to categorize cancer's genetic makeup

The National Institutes of Health says the U.S. government is set to begin a $100 million pilot project to uncover the complex interactions among numerous genes involved in the 200 diseases collectively called cancer. NIH's genetics chief says advances in technology allow scientists to have a better look at cancer cells and determine what genetic changes can cause cancer.
