Low-protein diet may reduce cancer risk

Vegetarians who eat a low-protein, low-calorie diet may have a lower risk of developing cancer, research published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found. Although distance runners had similar low levels of cancer-related substances in the blood, low-protein eaters had lower levels of a specific protein that is linked to breast, colon and prostate cancers.
