N.J. lawmakers pass stem cell bill

The New Jersey Assembly authorized $270 million in bonds to fund stem cell research projects, including construction of the state's first three stem cell research centers. The legislation now goes to the governor, who said he will sign it. The Assembly is expected to pass another bill asking voters in 2007 to approve $230 million in research grants.
