Goldman's strategy helps firm win on subprime meltdown

While most financial institutions are reeling from the subprime-mortgage mess, Goldman Sachs has raked in a massive windfall, mostly because of a small group of traders. Two members of Goldman's structured-products trading group urged the firm to bet that the subprime market was on the road to disaster. A bet that has paid off big.
