Lehman beats expectations with Q4 earnings

Lehman Brothers Holdings announced an 11% drop in fourth-quarter earnings Thursday, which was better than analysts expected. The results serve as a reminder that as the value of securities fall, investment banks may take further writedowns. "I don't think anybody can think we've seen the last of the writedowns here," said Adam Compton of RCM Global Investors in San Francisco.
