AT&T inks deal with Rentrak to monitor U-verse viewing

AT&T wants to know more about the viewing habits of its U-verse TV customers, so it has signed up Rentrak, an audience-measurement company, to analyze aggregate data taken from U-verse set-top boxes, Rentrak disclosed in an SEC filing. In return, AT&T will partner with Rentrak in marketing its TV Essentials service to TV stations, content providers and advertisers.
