BRC says same-store sales in central London soar 13.3%

The British Retail Consortium reported that retailers in central London enjoyed a 13.3% surge in sales in November compared with the same month the previous year. Discounts and unseasonably mild weather were cited as contributing to the increase in sales. "Although the rest of the country has shown a relatively slow buildup to early Christmas trade in November, London has bucked this trend," said Helen Dickinson, head of retail at KPMG.
