CMS report lists downsides of health reform

A report released by the CMS projected that federal spending on health care will increase by $234 billion from 2010 to 2019 if the health care overhaul pushes through. Efforts to curb rising Medicare costs while reducing payments to hospitals and other providers based on productivity goals may be difficult to attain and could compromise doctors' participation in Medicare, according to the report.
