How Posterous opens up government

Social-media tools can increase government transparency by making it fast and easy to disseminate information, Steven Davy writes. Posterous and its microblogging counterpart, Tumblr, provide a simplified e-mail-to-blog posting feature that could prove especially attractive to government employees on the go, he notes. "Beyond becoming tools for leaking information, experts also say these new platforms, which are easy to use and encourage brevity, could help change the way government communicates with citizens," he writes.
