Original Orient Express about to ride into history

The Orient Express exudes an aura of mystery and glamour, but its essence will soon be all that's left as the route will fall off railway timetables, its services replaced by high-speed rail and discount airlines. The Orient Express was likely at its peak during the 1930s, according to travel expert Rick Steves. "But in practice, the Orient Express is the practical way you get across the Balkans," Steves says.
