Women make more in Washington, D.C.

Women who work in Washington, D.C., make more money on average than women who live elsewhere in the country, largely because of the concentration of high-paying government jobs, according to a Forbes analysis of Labor Department statistics. Forbes looked at the top-ranked and bottom-ranked states for women's earnings and offered an overview of what women CEOs are earning. After the nation's capital, top-earning states are Maryland, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
