App development leans more toward iOS, away from Android

Apple's introduction of the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S this year helped drive up the number of applications developed for iOS devices. Figures from mobile analytics firm Flurry show that Android's share of the new app market fell to 27% in the current quarter from 37% in the first quarter, when iOS accounted for 63%. Flurry's Peter Farago cites fragmentation in the Android Market as one reason that app developers find iOS a more lucrative space.
