Domestic airfare jumped 8.5% in Q2

Rising fuel prices and travel demand caused domestic airfares to climb 8.5% year-over-year during the second quarter, the Transportation Department's Bureau of Transportation Statistics reports. The average airfare for the second quarter reached $370, which surpasses the post-1995 record of $359 set in the third quarter of 2008 when not adjusted for inflation.
