Rival influence-rating services aim to clobber Klout

Klout's dominance of the online-influence-measurement business could be coming to an end, writes Erin Griffith. Rival ratings services such as Kred and PROskore are differentiating themselves by mining more social media data and incorporating other factors such as users' education and employment history into their calculations. "The nascent influence measurement industry is already awash in tools to transform amateur social media stars into branding machines," Griffith writes.
